Endoscopic sinus surgery is a surgical procedure often used to treat conditions such as chronic sinusitis or recurrent sinusitis.

03

Healing Process and Results

Recovery after endoscopic sinus surgery is usually fast. Patients can usually return to their normal activities within a few days. However, there may be temporary discomfort after surgery, such as mild bleeding, swelling or runny nose. The recovery process can vary from person to person, but usually patients' symptoms are significantly reduced or completely eliminated.

02

Why is it done?

Endoscopic sinus surgery can be performed to remove blockages inside the sinuses, open sinus passages, remove polyps or other tissue growths, or clear inflamed tissue from the sinuses. This procedure is necessary to relieve the patient's sinusitis symptoms and prevent recurrent infections.

04

Risks and Complications

Endoscopic sinus surgery is generally a safe procedure, but as with any surgical procedure, there are some risks and complications. These can include infection, bleeding, scars in the nose, temporary or permanent loss of smell or changes in taste. However, these complications are rare and are usually mild and temporary.
